About the Lynx 29
Designed by Frank Pryor as the Leisure 27 which was subsequently enlarged by extending the cockpit to create the faster and better performing, Leisure 29 of which about 30 were built.
After production of Leisure 29s ceased the moulds were taken over by Jaguar Yachts who marketed it as the Lynx 29. Less than ten were built. They are tough strongly built yachts. The hulls were built in solid GRP with foam ribs and stringers for exceptional strength. Decks are balsa sandwich for strength and maximum insulation properties.
Externally she has clean modern lines and fin keel with a 45% ballast ratio for stability and good performance.
The interior is virtually identical to the Leisure branded boats, with extensive inner GRP mouldings.
The non slip moulded deck is clean and uncluttered with a flat foredeck for safe anchor handling.
High topsides give an immense amount of room below with full standing headroom throughout making this a really dry boat but without excessive windage.
Double lifelines run through stanchions from a butterfly shaped pulpit to the pushpit. All standing rigging is stainless steel. Shroud chainplates are anchored to internal steel brackets through bolted and bonded to the hull.
Halyards are internal to the mast and led aft via deck mounted turning blocks to winches and cleats on the coachroof.
Cabins are fitted out in good quality teak veneers with cream and brown upholstery. The accommodation, comprising a maximum of six berths, is double lined and well lit from long tinted windows.
The companionway steps are easily removed for access to the engine. Routine engine service items such as filters and water pump impeller are readily accessible and easily changed.
